Still made it 4,200 km to Checkpoint 4 – not bad for saddle cream and stubbornness. Not the farewell tour ending I pictured, but thank you to everyone who supported this ride. World Bicycle Relief and the Power of Bicycles remain as important as ever. To my fellow riders and host countries – it’s been an honour. Ride safe, ride strong. I’ll be cheering from a comfy chair, ice pack in hand.”

- 02.07.2026: Florian (66) get’s a four (4) hour penalty. The penalty will be served as an organizer-ordered 4-hour stop at a time and location chosen by the organizers before the finish in Tarifa. Once notified, the rider must begin the stop within one hour. (more details here)
- 29.06.2026: Lucky Szákó, 91 scratched. “The saddle pain and knee pain have become unbearable while cycling. After today’s ride, I realized it wouldn’t be the right decision to continue. I will finish my journey in Riga and travel home from there. It also became clear to me that I didn’t have the right bike and equipment for a challenge like this. I’ll learn from this experience, come back better prepared, and I’m sure I’ll be on the start line again next time. Thank you to you and the whole team for organizing this fantastic event. It has been the greatest cycling adventure of my life, and I’m grateful to have been part of it. I wish everyone a safe journey, the best of luck, and a strong finish!”

- 27.06.2026: Edgaras Pielikys, 58 scratched. “For the last four days I have been dealing with a severe saddle sore, which has made it extremely painful to sit and ride. As a result, I have also developed significant Achilles tendon pain, most likely tendonitis. At this point I cannot continue riding safely, neither seated nor standing, and I would not be able to complete the race.”
